Each month, we survey our extensive network of private homebuilders to gauge real-time trends across the country. We question these contacts about orders, starts, inventory, price point trends, pricing power, future expectations, construction costs and pertinent macro issues. Our survey captures approximately 15% of production single-family new home sales, encompassing virtually all of the top 75 markets as ranked by single-family permit activity, providing us with unique local insight in addition to broader national conclusions.
